Rohan dreams of transforming his community

Rohan Kumar, Son of Inder Manjhi
Dear Don and Chris,

Thank you for supporting Rohan by providing him with a year of tuition through Shoshit Seva Sangh.

Rohan is nine years old and the son of Inder and Tijiya, both illiterate laborers who live in a ghetto in the outskirts of Patna, a city in India. This ghetto is inhabited only by members of the Musahar community. Rohan has one brother and three sisters. Rohan’s parents have a meagre income and live well below the poverty line.

Rohan did not have access to education for much of his childhood and without the intervention of Shoshit Seva Sangh he would likely have remained in this ghetto like his parents. Rohan joined the school in 2009 in the pre-school class and is now in class II. He is a keen student and is full of hope for his future. This education increases prospects of transformational change not only for himself but also for his loved ones.

Rohan’s tuition, clothing, and medical care have been given by SeeYourImapct supporters for the last two years, and thanks to your donation, he will be able to attend school for one more year.

During the last academic year, Rohan got an overall marks of 87%, with As in Hindi, Math, Science and Social Science.

Thank you, Don and Chris, for your support.
