Raju is determined to study hard and do well

Raju-Kumar-Son-of-Ramlakshan-Manjhi1
Dear Sophia, S K, Shoshit, Laura, and Christy,

Thank you for supporting the education of someone like Raju for an entire year.

Raju is just 10 years old and comes from a musahar ghetto (rat-eating community) in the village of Khajuri in Bihar, India. His parents, Ramlakshan and Dular, are both landless laborers and live far below the poverty line. They don’t even have a straw roof hut, which is the normal home of a musahar family. Raju’s family lives in a makeshift hut in the fields where they work, which is provided by the landlord. Their living conditions are extremely difficult.

Raju is the eldest son in the family and joined Shoshit Samadhan Kendra, the free English medium school run by the Shoshit Seva Sangh, in January 2010. He can look forward to a bright future provided he works hard at his studies and fully utilizes the facilities now available to him. His teacher thinks highly of Raju and is quite confident that Raju will do well in studies.

Raju’s tuition, clothing and medical care has been provided by SeeYourImpact supporters for the last two years, and thanks to your donation, he will be able to attend school for one more year.

Thank you Sophia, S K, Shoshit, Laura, and Christy for your support.
