Vikash is 9 years old and both his parents, Mahendra and Rita, are illiterate landless laborers living about 50 kilometers from Patna, India. Vikash has one brother and one sister, both younger than him.
Vikash joined the Shoshit Samadhan Kendra school, a fully free English medium residential school in 2009 in pre-school class and has shown great promise in his studies. In the final exams in the pre-school class he averaged 95%, scoring 97% in English, 89% in Hindi and 96% in Maths. Vikash is now in class I and at this tender age he has shown a remarkable disposition for studies. Though he has a long road to travel, he certainly deserves the opportunity that he has been given to excel in life.
Thank you Brian and Pradeep (11 months!) for supporting his tuition, and Callan for making sure he has clothing and medical care for the next year!
