Vikash can continue doing well at school

Vikash is 16 years old and is studying in 6th grade at Shoshit Seva Sangh. He belongs to the backward Mushahar community, and both his parents are illiterate day laborers. The combined monthly income of his parents barely added up to Rs. 2,000 ($40) per month.

Till he got admission into the free English medium school run by the Shoshit Seva Sangh, Vikash studied in a local school where he was taught in the vernacular and was discriminated against for belonging to a community which is officially notified as a ‘criminal community’. Though they realize the value of a good education, his parents would never have been able to afford to send their son to a school as good as this one.

A few weeks back, Vikash received a donation of clothing and medical care for a year. Your donation of a month of tuition, Sarah, James, Margo, Rupali, Peter, Douglas, Jon, Shirley, Bryan and Tinna (x3) would enable Vikash to get an education he could never have even dreamt of. Vikash is a promising child and particularly keen to learn English. His spoken English is praiseworthy.

Thank you, Sarah, James, Margo, Rupali, Peter, Douglas, Jon, Shirley, Bryan and Tinna for your generous support of Vikash!
