Kundan breaks the cycle of poverty

Kundan
Dear Bellevue Rotary, Andrea, Bill and Colleen, and Peter and Kim,

Eleven year old Kundan Kumar, lives in a slum on the outskirts of Patna. Kundan’s father is a landless laborer and his family lives much below the poverty line. Their living conditions are squalid and extremely difficult. Worse, Kundan’s father’s addiction to alcoholism siphons away the meager earnings of the family, leaving little or no money to be invested int Kundan’s education and future.

Kundan joined Shoshit Samadhan Kendra, the free English medium school run by the Shoshit Seva Sangh. He can now look forward to a bright future provided he works hard at his studies and fully utilizes the facilities now available to him.

Last year in Kundan’s education was supported by the generosity of donors donating through SeeYourImpact, and he secured an overall 86.4% scoring, 76/100 in English, 81/100 in Hindi, 90/100 in Maths, 91/100 in Science and 94/100 in Social Studies.

Since joining SSK, Kundan is adjusting well in the school hostel. His teacher thinks highly of Kundan and is quite confident that Kundan will do well in studies.

Your generous donation, Bellevue Rotary Foundation, will ensure that Kundan gets to attend another year of school at Shoshit Seva Kendra and continue to excel in studies. Your generosity has infused hope, strength and enthusiasm into Kundan’s life.

Thank you, Bellevue Rotary Foundation, for enabling Kundan to break the cycle of poverty.

Thank you too, Andrea, Bill and Colleen, Peter and Kim for coming together to provide clothing and an entire year of medical care to Kundan.
