Sikandar’s life will change!

Sikandar in his uniform at school

Sikandar with his grandmother and younger brother

Dear Poonam,

Eight year old Sikandar comes from a remote village in one of the backward districts of Bihar. His father works as a day laborer, and his mother died few years ago. He has an elder brother who, like his father, is illiterate and is also a day laborer. He has two brothers and one sister. In his village there is no school as it is in an inaccessible area. To be in a proper school is an opportunity neither Sikandar nor his father could ever dream of. His younger brother, Inder Sada, is also enrolled at the school run by SSS.

A bright future beckons him provided he continues to work hard and grabs the opportunity ahead of him!
